We believe running groups should be free, fun and for everyone
One of the great things about running is that almost everyone can do it – you don’t need athletic prowess and most runners start out with nothing more than a pair of trainers. Running provides people with the opportunity to improve their health and fitness while at the same time getting out of their homes and into the fresh air, enjoying everything their local area has to offer.
Over the years we’ve spent talking to runners and being runners ourselves we’ve found that running can often be a lonely activity, and when you’re constantly running by yourself it can be difficult to stay motivated.
That’s why we’ve started the Sweatshop Running Community.
What is the SRC?
It’s an entry level running group within every store and runners are incentivised for regular participation. The wider aim is to create a companywide running community linked via a common webpage on our blog and communicated with by e-newsletter. The Running Community doesn’t just stop at this entry level running group with many of our stores offering a variety of running groups for all abilities.
What is its purpose?
We want Sweatshop to be able to provide support for runners of all abilities. If you have never run before but want to start, or run but have no one to do it with, we can help by giving you a place to come to, free of charge, where you will have a chance to go out with supportive and friendly staff at Sweatshop plus other runners to share this experience – with a real community feel.

Sweatshop’s mission is to help runners be the best that they can be and we hope that the Sweatshop Running Community helps to fulfil that mission by getting more people to realise how much fun running can be and by supporting them along the way. In order to do that we’ve teamed up with one of our favourite brands, adidas, to create unique uniform for the SRC. Community members can purchase items from this exclusive range and all members will receive an adidas Sweatshop Running Community t-shirt ABSOLUTELY FREE after completing five weeks with us.
How to get involved
If you’re already a member of the SRC we look forward to continuing to run with you. If you’ve not signed up – you don’t need to register to come running with us*. Why not try one of our runs and if you get as much from it as we hope, you may wish to register online so you can then be eligible to receive some incentives as a reward for the more times that you run with us!
All of our SRC groups meet in store before the run, where a member of the Sweatshop team will be waiting to welcome you. There are no rules about what you should wear when running with the SRC – comfy, weather appropriate clothing and a trusty pair of running shoes are all you need! There will be a dedicated area in the store for you to leave your belongings while you run and a well earned drink of water waiting for you when you get back.
If you want any more information, feel free to email us via firstname.lastname@example.org
